Ruunaa Hiking Area is about 30 km east of the town of Lieksa. Ruunaa hiking area was founded in 1987 and it
consists of 32 square kilometres.

The permits mentioned can be sold as a family permits, then the permit costs 2-times the real price and the
catch quota is doubled compared to the personal permit.
Under 15-years old may fish together with over 18-years old guardian with his/hers permit onto his/hers catch quota.
Under 18-years old gets a 50% discount of the fishing permit.
The state fishing cost of treatment fee is a must for 18 - 65 years old persons, excluding ice
fishing and traditional hook and line fishing.
Common rule: 2 lines/rods / permit, catch quota 1 salmoniform / 3 h, 3 salmoniforms / day.

Scope of the permit:
The permit also includes areas near by, for example Ruunaanjärvi, and Naara- ja Käpykoski.
Permitted fishing-tackles:
All man-made lures. Natural lures (also lure paste etc.) prohibited.
Haapavitja fly-fishing area (from Haapavitja bridge to the lower part of Koivumutka) only traditional fly-fishing.

Other limitations:
Graylings min. measurement 35 cm. Motor powered boat is prohibited in the whole area.
Using a anchored boat and also using hook and line on rapids and streams is prohibited.
Open fire only on designated places.
Paasikoski - Haapavitja:

Kattilakoski:
Kattilakoski is a reservation rapid, which can be rented by a company or group for few hours to a week.
Neiti-, Murroo- ja Siikakoski:
A normal recreation fishing area, where's at summer time restocked regulary a allowed catch size trout and salmon.
Fishing is allowed both with troll and fly-fishing, from shore or boat.
Waters:
20 km, where rapids and streams 8 km.
