I. CAMP SCHOOL AT RUUNAAN MATKAILU

Price includes accommodation with own linens, sauna x 2, meals - as mentioned on the program, entrance fee to the Karhunkaataja (bear hunter), multivision show on Ruunaa nature house, rapid shooting trip and services of a guide for 3 - 4 days programme.

For additional charge:
Wall climbing at Hyvärilä traveling centre, Nurmes.

Day 1

  • Lodging, dinner and acquainting to Ruunaan Matkailu area. A visit to Ruunaa nature house, where a multivision show about Ruunaa area, evening snack.

    • Day 2

  • Breakfast, a visit to Karhunkaataja (bear hunter) Väinö Heikkinen home. 36 bears hunted and killed "Bear Väinö" tells stories and presents his stuffed animals. A hike at Änäkäinen battleground, excursion to dugout, cave and trench. A lunch in forrest. Dinner, sauna and evening snack.

    • Day 3

  • Breakfast. A hike to Murrookoski approx. 7 km, where a change to fishing at rapids. Also studying some plants. Spending a night at Murrookoski wilderness camp & a big tent. Bag lunch, dinner and evening snack will be eaten in wilderness.

    • Day 4

  • Breakfast. The hike continues via Huuhkajavaara belvedere to Haapavitja, approx. 10 km. Then sitting down to traditional wooden rapid-boats; shooting six rapids. Ashoring to Ruunaan Matkailu, where smoke sauna, dinner and evening snack.

    • Day 5

  • Breakfast. A possibility to visit sculptor Eva Ryynänen atelier and PikkuKili zoo. For the way back home, bag lunch from Ruunaan Matkailu.

    • We offer also just rapid shooting trips, with or whitout wilderness lunch.
    On the winter program the rapid shooting is replaced by ski-hike.



    II. THE FROTHS OF FOUR RAPIDS AT RUUNAA

    Two days, one night

    A program suggestion:
    Welcome coffee and changing of equipments at Ruunaan Matkailu. A start to rapid shooting trip. We'll make way 11 km down the river and encounter three rapids. At Murrookoski wilderness camp we offer blazed salmon meal, a sauna in dugout-sauna, and free-time program. There's also a change for fishing at the rapids. Evening snack and staying the night at the wilderness camp. Breakfast at Ruunaan Matkailu.

    Alternative: Program the same as it reads up with the exception of spending the night at Ruunaan Matkailu's cottages and sauna in smoke sauna.
    The trip will be executed with:
    The traditional wooden boats or/and rubber rafts

    For a extra fee:

  • A wooden cup with your initials or a finnish knife.
  • Firshing permits and gear.

    Welcome coffee and pastry at Ruunaan Tupa. Excursion to Ruunaa nature house. Hiking from Siikakoski to Murrookoski approx. 2km

    A delicious lunch with fixings at Murrookoski wilderness camp.
